La conferencia vers\u00f3 sobre el control de plagas agrarias mediante el uso de herramientas biotecnol\u00f3gicas.<\/p>\n<p>En su <strong>exposici\u00f3n<\/strong>, titulada \u2018<em>Gen\u00e9tica molecular y gen\u00f3mica funcional para estudiar la diferenciaci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas gigantes inducidas por nematodos fitoendopar\u00e1sitos<\/em>\u2019, la <strong>profesora Escobar<\/strong> explic\u00f3 que los nematodos fitoendopar\u00e1sitos formadores de agallas son par\u00e1sitos de muy dif\u00edcil control que provocan plagas en cultivos importantes y producen cuantiosas p\u00e9rdidas agr\u00edcolas. &#8220;Los m\u00e9todos actuales de control basados en pesticidas, gen\u00e9tica cl\u00e1sica, biocontrol, etc., no son eficaces ni econ\u00f3micamente rentables. Por tanto, vemos necesaria una b\u00fasqueda de herramientas biotecnol\u00f3gicas que puedan contribuir a su control&#8221;, dijo.<\/p>\n<p>Estos nematodos migran intercelularmente por las ra\u00edces de las plantas penetrando finalmente en el cilindro vascular donde se establecen induciendo unas c\u00e9lulas nutricias, llamadas \u2018<strong>c\u00e9lulas gigantes<\/strong>\u2019, encargadas de su alimentaci\u00f3n hasta completar su ciclo vital. &#8220;<em>Estas c\u00e9lulas son metab\u00f3licamente muy activas y presentan una fisiolog\u00eda alterada producto de cambios en numerosos procesos<\/em>&#8220;, se\u00f1al\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>La investigadora explic\u00f3 que, por ejemplo, sufren <strong>mitosis con citocinesis incompletas<\/strong>, dando lugar a c\u00e9lulas polinucleadas que adem\u00e1s experimentan endoreduplicaci\u00f3n. &#8220;Tambi\u00e9n sufren cambios morfol\u00f3gicos y funcionales, adquiriendo formas muy irregulares e invaginaciones de membrana para aumentar la relaci\u00f3n superficie\/volumen y as\u00ed favorecer el intercambio de nutrientes&#8221;, se\u00f1al\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>La profesora explic\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n <strong>c\u00f3mo trabaja el grupo de investigaci\u00f3n en el que desarrolla su labor<\/strong>. &#8220;<em>Para comprender qu\u00e9 mecanismos gobiernan estos cambios, hemos analizado los transcriptomas de estas c\u00e9lulas gigantes previamente microdiseccionadas por l\u00e1ser, mediante hibridaci\u00f3n de microordenamientos de DNA<\/em>&#8220;, dijo.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n han identificado un factor de transcripci\u00f3n crucial para la formaci\u00f3n de agallas que es tambi\u00e9n clave en las cascadas de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales mediadas por auxinas para la formaci\u00f3n de ra\u00edces laterales. &#8220;Nuestra hip\u00f3tesis central es que los nematodos mediante la inyecci\u00f3n de mol\u00e9culas efectoras negocian con las c\u00e9lulas vegetales y secuestran parcialmente rutas end\u00f3genas de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales que la planta utiliza de modo habitual para dirigir el desarrollo de las ra\u00edces laterales&#8221;, se\u00f1al\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>Fonte:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uclm.es\/gabinete\/ver_noticias.asp?id_noticia=11683\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.uclm.es\/<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La Facultad de Ciencias Ambientales y Bioqu\u00edmica de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) ha retomado el III Ciclo de Seminarios de Investigaci\u00f3n en Biomedicina y Biotecnolog\u00eda con la intervenci\u00f3n de la investigadora del grupo de Biotecnolog\u00eda y Biolog\u00eda Molecular de Plantas Carolina Escobar.
