Bebidas derivadas de granos de caf\u00e9, como el ampliamente consumido expreso, entre otras, presentan una notable importancia hist\u00f3rica, cultural y econ\u00f3mica a nivel mundial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Estas bebidas tienen una composici\u00f3n qu\u00edmica rica y variable, dependiendo de diferentes factores de cultivo y fabricaci\u00f3n. Los alcaloides cafe\u00edna y trigonelina, as\u00ed como el \u00e9ster de polifenol, \u00e1cido clorog\u00e9nico, son algunos de los compuestos org\u00e1nicos bioactivos m\u00e1s importantes de estas bebidas, que muestran altos niveles en el caf\u00e9 y se ha demostrado que modulan dianas moleculares comunes implicadas directamente en caracter\u00edsticas clave del c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La estudiante de doctorado Ariane Rocha de la Universidad brasile\u00f1a, realiza actualmente una estancia en la Universidad de Granada para analizar si dichos componentes del caf\u00e9 son efectivos frente a las subpoblaciones de C\u00e9lulas Madre Cancer\u00edgenas (CMC), protagonistas de las l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n que lideran Mar\u00eda \u00c1ngel Garc\u00eda, Juan Antonio Marchal y su equipo de la C\u00e1tedra \u201cDoctores Galera y Requena de Investigaci\u00f3n en&nbsp;C\u00e9lulas Madre Cancer\u00edgenas\u201d&nbsp;de la Universidad de Granada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Debido a la agresividad y resistencia a las terapias convencionales, tales como la radioterapia y quimioterapia, que presentan estas subpoblaciones, el estudio, caracterizaci\u00f3n y b\u00fasqueda de terapias preventivas y f\u00e1rmacos espec\u00edficos frente a estas CMC son de gran inter\u00e9s para poder evitar las met\u00e1stasis y reca\u00eddas de esta enfermedad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El grupo del profesor Juan Antonio Marchal tiene una amplia experiencia en el tema, como se deriva de sus numerosas publicaciones de calidad y proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n en desarrollo, experiencia que Ariane y su equipo de investigaci\u00f3n brasile\u00f1o aprovechan con gran ilusi\u00f3n y esperanza para evaluar si los compuestos del caf\u00e9 tienen actividad frente a las CMC y profundizaren los mecanismos implicados en c\u00f3mo esta bebida puede ayudar en la prevenci\u00f3n y lucha contra el c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Referencia bibliogr\u00e1fica<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Drinking for protection?
