El premio fue otorgado por la presentaci\u00f3n del trabajo: \u201cSarcolipin expression increases with strength training depending on the intra-set velocity loss: implications for muscle adaption and performance\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En este estudio se describen por primera vez el efecto que tienen dos tipos de entrenamiento de fuerza en la expresi\u00f3n muscular de una prote\u00edna llamada sarcolipina. La funci\u00f3n de esta prote\u00edna, en m\u00fasculo esquel\u00e9tico humano, est\u00e1 poco descrita. Se cree que puede tener un papel importante en la regulaci\u00f3n de las caracter\u00edsticas contr\u00e1ctiles del m\u00fasculo esquel\u00e9tico y en el gasto de energ\u00eda en reposo y durante la actividad f\u00edsica. Se ha sugerido que una mayor expresi\u00f3n de esta prote\u00edna podr\u00eda servir para luchar contra la obesidad. Adem\u00e1s, una menor expresi\u00f3n podr\u00eda ser tambi\u00e9n una soluci\u00f3n para pacientes con distrofias musculares. El trabajo en concreto concluye que un aumento en la expresi\u00f3n de esta prote\u00edna podr\u00eda contribuir en la mejora del rendimiento de un tipo de entrenamiento de fuerza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Miriam Mart\u00ednez estudi\u00f3 Biotecnolog\u00eda en la Universidad de Gerona, pero est\u00e1 muy interesada en el deporte, \u201cpor lo que unir la investigaci\u00f3n con el deporte era lo que quer\u00eda, en caso de poder tener esa oportunidad. Decid\u00ed probar el \u00e1mbito deportivo realizando las pr\u00e1cticas de empresa y el trabajo de fin de grado en el laboratorio de Ejercicio F\u00edsico, Rendimiento Humano y Salud de la ULPGC, liderado por Jos\u00e9 Antonio L\u00f3pez Calbet. Me gust\u00f3 mucho la experiencia y aqu\u00ed sigo. Actualmente, estoy acabando el M\u00e1ster de Nutrici\u00f3n y Salud de la UOC y espero obtener una beca para realizar el Doctorado en la ULPGC\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Miriam manifiesta que &#8220;me gustar\u00eda agradecer a todos mis compa\u00f1eros del laboratorio, a Jos\u00e9 Antonio y a todos aquellos investigadores que hayan participado en la realizaci\u00f3n de este estudio. Es el resultado del trabajo de mucha gente.
