Buscan financiaci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de crowdfunding para avanzar sobre su v\u00eda de administraci\u00f3n en pacientes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tras el \u00e9xito de los dos primeros proyectos de la UMA seleccionados para captar fondos mediante crowdfunding, \u2018Corazonada\u2019 y \u2018M\u00e1laga para ti y para m\u00ed’, que el pasado mes de julio consiguieron su financiaci\u00f3n total, as\u00ed como la iniciativa ‘M\u00e1s neuronas, menos depresi\u00f3n’, a\u00fan activa, que ya ha sido cofinanciada; una nueva  propuesta de investigaci\u00f3n de la Universidad de M\u00e1laga ha sido elegida por la plataforma Goteo para buscar impulso a trav\u00e9s del micromecenazgo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Se trata de una \u2018<\/strong>Nueva estrategia antidepresiva\u2019<\/strong><\/a>, un proyecto de I+D+i<\/strong> que emana del departamento de Fisiolog\u00eda Humana de la Facultad de Medicina, con el objetivo de potenciar el efecto antidepresivo de f\u00e1rmacos contra este trastorno mental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La depresi\u00f3n es una de las enfermedades con mayor impacto sobre la poblaci\u00f3n<\/strong>, seg\u00fan la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud. De hecho, en Espa\u00f1a se estima que puede afectar a 4 millones de personas. Para su tratamiento farmacol\u00f3gico existen diferentes terapias, principalmente actuando sobre el sistema serotonin\u00e9rgico \u2013 los denominados f\u00e1rmacos ISRS-. Sin embargo, seg\u00fan los investigadores, su efecto antidepresivo tarda alrededor de dos semanas en aparecer y, adem\u00e1s, en torno a un 30 por ciento de los pacientes son resistentes a estos f\u00e1rmacos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este grupo de investigaci\u00f3n de la Universidad de M\u00e1laga ha demostrado que el neurop\u00e9ptido Galanina potencia la acci\u00f3n antidepresiva de los f\u00e1rmacos<\/strong> ISRS, llegando incluso a duplicar su efecto, aunque, tal y como se\u00f1alan estos expertos, encuentran en su v\u00eda de administraci\u00f3n a los pacientes uno de sus principales problemas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precisamente, a trav\u00e9s de este proyecto, se pretende avanzar en una nueva v\u00eda para administrarlo, la intranasal, que ya es utilizada por otros neurop\u00e9ptidos, para, as\u00ed, poder acercar esta novedosa estrategia terap\u00e9utica antidepresiva a los pacientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para ello, cuenta con 40 d\u00edas para alcanzar su m\u00ednimo indispensable, 800 euros, y poder as\u00ed seguir buscando financiaci\u00f3n hasta conseguir el nivel \u00f3ptimo, que permitir\u00e1 su realizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El equipo de \u2018Nueva estrategia antidepresiva\u2019 est\u00e1 compuesto por los investigadores de la UMA Carmelo Mill\u00f3n, Zaida D\u00edaz, Bel\u00e9n Gago, Antonio Flores, Laura Garc\u00eda y Noelia Cantero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Universidad de M\u00e1laga se sum\u00f3 el pasado curso a la b\u00fasqueda de nuevas formas de financiaci\u00f3n colectiva, tan presentes ya en otras universidades europeas y, sobre todo, norteamericanas, con la creaci\u00f3n del canal de crowdfunding \u2018I-UMA\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goteo <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Goteo\u2019 es la \u00fanica plataforma de crowdfunding en Europa que trabaja en formato Fundaci\u00f3n<\/strong>. Cuenta con 7 a\u00f1os de experiencia y un porcentaje de \u00e9xito de m\u00e1s del 75 por ciento. Una comunidad de m\u00e1s de 120.000 usuarios, m\u00e1s de 1.000 proyectos financiados y unos 6 millones de euros recaudados, son cifras que tambi\u00e9n avalan su compromiso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adem\u00e1s, cuenta con la experiencia previa de ya haber trabajado con otras universidades como la Polit\u00e9cnica de Catalunya, la Carlos III y la UNIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En la Universidad de M\u00e1laga, esta iniciativa ha sido impulsada por el Vicerrectorado de Investigaci\u00f3n y Transferencia, con el apoyo de la Oficina de Transferencia de Resultados de la Investigaci\u00f3n (OTRI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
